Our Story
Starting a business is never an easy task. It requires dedication, hard work, and perseverance. I know this from personal experience, as I built my own business, The Silk Purse Guild, through a pandemic while also dealing with serious health issues. There were days when I just couldn't find the strength to keep going.
On one particularly bad day, I found myself sobbing with a book of positive affirmations in hand. In that moment, I realized that what I really needed was a pep talk from someone who could inspire me to keep pushing forward. But who could provide such a powerful pep talk?
As I looked around my office for inspiration, my gaze landed on two beloved tea cosies - Lilibet and Phil - that sat on the shelf above my desk. These quirky little characters had been made for me by a dear friend, as a tip of the hat to the nations strength and stay, both now sorely missed.
And so it was that Lilibet and Phil became the inspiration for my company ethos - my guiding principles for how to run and grow my business.
